Application periods
1st Period : November 1st, 2025 to January 31st, 2026 (3 months)
This is the main application window!Around 90% of the cohort will be selected during this period, so applying early will give you the best chance of securing a spot.
Don’t wait until the last minute, get your application in on time!
2nd Period : February 15th, 2025 to March 15th, 2026 (1 month)
A smaller window with only 10% of places left.If you miss the first period, you can still apply here, but be aware that competition will be much tougher.

Please carefully read the requirements to check if you are eligible for Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree before going through the online application process.
- Candidates from all over the world can apply to the MemBioMed Erasmus Mundus Joint Master degree.
- Both scholarship and self-funded applicants submit their application through the same online application form.
- No documents will be accepted after the deadline Avoid applying at the very last minute, so that you have time to make corrections in case your file is incomplete.
- Limited number of spots available
Applicants will apply to the Coordinating University, Université Côte d'Azur (UniCA) for the first-year integration of the programme.
The consortium as a whole, through the Selection and Examination Committee (SEC), will decide on admissions to the MemBioMed programme. Applicants will find all relevant information on this website: general information, admission criteria, application forms, deadlines for application, course content, information on scholarships and fees, etc. Selection criteria, selection process and timeline are clearly stated. - Documents needed for the online application on the eMundus platforme:

- CV : mandatory « Europass » format europass, no page limit
- Motivation letter : limited to 1 page : personnaly explain how the program’s objectives align with your motivation, academic and professional background, and career goals
- Reference letter : 1 recent academic recommendation letter (letter must be less than 1 year old, on official university or organization letterhead, dated and clearly state the relationship with the student, should provide specific exemples of the student’s skills and achievements, must include verifiable contact details of the referee, possibility to upload 2 or 3)
- Bachelor transcript : certified translation in english
- Certificate/ degree/ diploma : Along with translation in English. If the required diploma has not yet been issued, an official letter from the awarding institution will be required; A scan of an official 1st cycle degree diploma or other eligible diploma in Life Sciences, recognized by the EU as a 1st or 2nd cycle degree equivalent to at least 180 ECTS credits

(a) The application process will be entirely online.
(b) No application will be accepted in any other form.
(c) Non-submitted applications, incomplete applications and applications received after the application deadline will not be taken into consideration.
(d) All completed applications will be recorded and archived to ensure full transparency of the selection process.
(e) The programme adheres to principles of equality and non-discrimination. No applicant is discriminated against based on gender, ethnicity, nationality, disability, or any other characteristic.
- Language Proficiency Requirements

The whole MemBioMed programme is taught in English and English proficiency is therefore a basic requirement. All non-English native speakers must attest a valid B2 English level (CEFR – Common European Framework of Reference) or equivalent:
- A recent TOEFL Certificate: minimum score of 580 points (paper), 237 (computer, each component >22) or 93 points (internet)
- A recent IELTS Certificate: minimum score of 6.5 (at least 6.0 in each module)
- A recent Cambridge C2 Proficiency (CPE) or C1 Advanced (CAE) 180, Cambridge component score 176
- Proof of 2 years full-time studies minimum in English (certificate from the previous university or Medium of Instruction MOI)
- Duolingo is not accepted
Please note than oral English proficiency will also be taken into account during interviews of applicants in phase 3.
- Educational Background

All candidates should possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology or equivalent diploma in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics with advanced courses in cell biology, biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology, biophysics, biotechnology, bioengeneering, cell medical biology, pharmacology and statistics. Advanced laboratory and/or research is preferred.
A Candidate who is currently enrolled in the last year of Bachelor at the time of application is allowed to apply, but final admission will only be effective if proof of graduation is provided before MemBioMed programme start, i.e. in July of the application year for the latest.

Admitted students will have to supply all documents necessary to complete enrolment. Students should start as early as possible their visa application (For students living in a country with a Campus France antenna, they should check with their local office regarding visa applications) A call of students from the reserve list will be made (in case of drop-outs). |

1. Eligibilty Check
Eligibility check will be performed by the application platforms during and immediately after the closure of the Call for applications. At this stage, the fulfilment of the minimum requirements specified above will be verified.
2. Preselection
The selection process has been meticulously designed to ensure fairness and inclusivity, taking into account diverse backgrounds and experiences. Each eligible application will undergo a thorough evaluation, scored on a 100-point scale by three Local Academic Coordinators from distinct Full Partner Institutions. To maintain objectivity, any evaluator must disclose potential conflicts of interest before the assessment.
The joint selection criteria are as follows:
- Academic achievement and potential (Grades and ranking, relavance of the academic background; 40 points). Cut off set at 25 to continue the preselection process.
- Overall quality of the CV (practical skills, other relevant experiences; 30 points)
- The quality of the cover letter (clarity/motivation, adequacy with the programme ; 20 points)
- Recommendation letters (quality /academic, relevance ; 10 points)
The SEC shall review the final grading and comments, compile a ranking based on average scores.
The cut-off to qualify for the interview is set at 75.
Candidates reaching this score will be contacted by email and invited to the 3rd phase (interview)
Remaining candidates will be notified about the panel’s decision and alerted to the appeal procedure via email.
3. Interviews
Interviews will be conducted via video conferencing by at least three evaluators, each interview will last max 20 minutes, including a maximum 5-minute presentation.

- Personality and interpersonal skills (15%)
