The department of Life & Health Sciences aims at excellence through training and research in biology, both for Master and PhD.


LIFE has 5 different pathways for its Master of Science and all have the same requirements and selection process.

Applications to the M1 and M2 must be submitted online from April 15th until June 1st 2021 through the following link:

Requirements are :

  • A detailed CV.
  • A Bachelor degree giving you the right to pursue a Master degree or a legal document witnessing a successful completion of your undergraduate degree.
  • A transcript of your grades for each year during your undergraduate Bachelor education giving you the right to study towards a Master degree.
  • A cover letter describing your professional aspirations.
  • Recommendation letters for overseas students (lien au formulaire de recommendation à utiliser sous format word). Home students may wish to include references, professors or researchers willing to recommend them, at the bottom of their CV.

► For overseas students, there is a joint process to follow with Etudes en France
► A medical student can directly apply to the M1 Médecine that gives a research oriented training. Alternately, directly applying to the M2 is possible if the DCEM and Master 1 Santé have been validated.

The comité de pilotage of Master sciences du vivant will select successful applicants and the school will inform you of its decision online through e-candidat.

Doctorate Thesis

Our scientific community offers PhDs projects in a wide variety of fields.

Requirements :

  • To candidate to a PhD at ED85, students must hold a M2 degree or equivalent.
  • You should be looking beforehand for a host laboratory in order to submit your candidacy.
  • The conseil de l’Ecole Doctorale will decide on successful applicants.
